Community Supported Agriculture

Thanks to everyone who came out to visit our table and listen to some great music at the CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) and CSF (Community Supported Fisheries) Fair last Sunday in Belfast. It was great to see so many growers and fishers, as well as all the folks who came in support of our local food system.

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is an agricultural model that allows community members to support local farmers by purchasing a “share” in the beginning of the growing season. This provides the farmer with capital early in the season to help cover the costs of seeds, soil ammendments, and labor. Shareholders recognize the inherent natural challenges that may present themselves during the growing season and embrace a bounty of seasonal produce each week.

Conscious Elements shareholders receive a weekly cornucopia of fresh, seasonal produce, culinary tea herbs, and flowers from our permaculture gardens in Brooks, ME.
